Dan joined BMC in May 2015. Before taking up his appointment as Head of Integrated Operations, Dan was Senior Manager Business Improvement for the global HSE, Marketing and Technology functions in BHP Billiton. Dan previously held the position of Manager Integrated Planning in the BHP Billiton’s greenfield exploration office in Singapore, where he was accountable for developing and monitoring performance against the multi-commodity business plan, material risk management and financial evaluation of development projects and acquisition targets. Prior to this Dan worked for BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance for seven years, holding a number of roles in Infrastructure and Strategy, Resource Development, and production planning. Before commencing work with BHP Billiton Dan worked for Solid Energy New Zealand as a coal quality engineer, and underground development miner. Dan holds a BE (Mining) from the University of New South Wales, and a Masters of Finance (Corporate Finance/Advisory) from the Financial Services Institute of Australia.

Anthony Timbrell

Anthony Timbrell has spent the last 15 years working in and around the coal industry. Anthony began his career with 8 years at Rio Tinto’s Coal & Allied before following that up with a further 4 years at Foxleigh Mining. In 2008 Anthony joined DBCT Management and was appointed CEO in 2010. Anthony brings to DBCT Management a detailed understanding of the coal industry and the needs of both coal producers and end users.

Steve Rae is currently the Chief Executive Officer for Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Pty Ltd, and has a wealth of coal industry operational and management experience after a successful career with BHP Billiton and BMA.  Prior to joining DBCT P/L, Steve was Head of Health, Safety and Environment, and a member of the BMA Executive Leadership Team.  Previous positions include General Manager & Site Senior Executive of both the Goonyella Riverside and Peak Downs mines located in the Bowen Basin.  Steve’s background is in maintenance, and he has extensive experience in a range of mining and port operations in both Australia, and the USA.

Anthony has ten years experience in leading and working within coal supply chains across Australia. Anthony is responsible for all infrastructure interests, commercial arrangements and logistics planning and operations for Glencore’s coal operations across Australia. Anthony serves as a Director of Port Waratah Coal Services, Port Kembla Coal Terminal, Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, Abbot Point Bulk Coal, the Hunter Valley Coal Chain Coordinator, Glencore Rail NSW Pty Ltd and various related entities.

Dan Clifford

Mr Clifford has more than 20 years’ experience in the Coal Mining industry and has worked in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. He has substantial open cut and underground coal mining experience, including major dragline and longwall operations, under previous employers Solid Energy, Glencore, Anglo Coal and BHP Billiton

Michael is an experienced executive with more than 25 years’ regulatory and legal experience in Australia. Prior to joining Aurizon, Michael held several executive level roles at Alinta Energy, a gas and electricity retailer with more than 800,000 residential, commercial and industrial energy customers. Michael’s significant legal expertise also includes his role as partner with Clayton Utz for six years and earlier, working for Minter Ellison for 11 years, the last four as partner.

Logistics Development and Regulatory Principal – Fitzroy Australia Resources 

Paul originally joined Vale in 2008 and has held various logistics roles during this period, including his current role with Fitzroy Australia Resources, who bought out Vale in 2016.  Paul’s current responsibilities include the commercial management, planning, and operations of logistics for coal operations in Queensland.  Paul has over 15 years of experience in bulk commodity logistics in the mining industry and prior to this held various commercial and finance roles in manufacturing.  Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a CPA member of the Australian Society of CPA’s.

  Brett Lynch

General Manager Queensland  – Pacific National

Brett Lynch is General Manager for Pacific National’s integrated Qld coal and bulk freight rail operations, leading the management of Pacific National’s rail haulage customer base to ensure achievement of the business strategy of providing efficient and reliable services to the market.  Brett has more than 20 years of experience within the logistics industry, fulfilling both commercial and operational management roles.  Brett holds tertiary qualifications in Commerce and is a Certified Practicing Accountant.  Combined with Brett’s prior operational experience in fulfilling the role of National Operations Manager with Pacific National Bulk Rail, Brett has a comprehensive understanding of the necessary alignment of internal business objectives with customer’s operational needs and market requirements.  Brett's most recent role was Commercial Manager of Pacific National's operations in Queensland.  Prior to his time with Patrick and Pacific National, Brett worked in the automotive and manufacturing industries.  Brett is a member of Pacific National’s leadership team and draws on strong leadership skills to manage the Queensland business, with a focus on maximizing potential benefits for both Pacific National and its customers.  

Michael Rosengren

Mr Rosengren obtained a BEng (Mining, First Class Honours) from the University of Queensland in 1984. He was Queensland Rhodes Scholar for 1985. He attended Oxford University, completing a B Arts in 1987, and then obtained an MSc (Mineral Production Management) from the University of London in 1988. On return to Australia, Michael joined Mount Isa Mines, progressing to Enterprise Mine Manager. He then worked as Resident Manager on construction and operation of the Timbarra Gold Mine in NSW followed by 18 months as General Manager with the Department of Environmental Protection in Western Australia. In 2002, he became Operations Manager Mining, East Coast, with Henry Walker Eltin before moving to Thiess with roles as Executive Mining Manager – Queensland; General Manager - Queensland across civil, building, mining and rail enterprises; and ultimately Executive General Manager for Australian Mining. Michael joined BHP Billiton in 2011, with responsibility for Poitrel and South Walker Creek open cuts in Queensland. In 2013 he became Vice-President, Production, for additional mines including Illawarra Coal, New Mexico Coal, Cerrejon and Indomet. He left BHPB in late 2014 and since that time has worked in private companies and consulting roles. Michael is currently the Managing Director for Realm Resources Limited, responsible for Middlemount South among other assets. Middlemount South joins POSCO Australia and Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metals in the Foxleigh Joint Venture.
