Ron Norman
General Manager - Integrated Logistics Company Pty Ltd

Ron started his ~30 year career in managing complex supply chains in the highly dynamic and competitive fast moving consumer goods industry and successfully transferring this knowledge into the mineral extraction and mineral processing industry supplying finished product across the globe. Ron has held various management roles including Production Management, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management as well as Strategic Master Planning using Static and Dynamic Simulation Modelling. Ron joined the ILC in 2009 and has worked closely with ILC Board of Directors (13 Stakeholders) to establish the Master Planning Team and develop the Strategic Master Plans for the Dalrymple Bay Coal Chain.

Shaun Quilty
Coal Chain Manager – BHP Billiton Mitsui Coal (BMC)

Shaun Quilty is based at BMC's Hay Point Terminal having moved from marketing in late 2005. Prior to this Shaun was responsible for scheduling, demand planning, and global distribution both in Brisbane and Singapore. A Master Mariner with 12 years experience both at sea and in commercial shipping with BHP Transport. Shaun is the Manager Coal Chain Planning for BMC.

Jesse Knight
Operations Analyst - DBCT Management

Jesse Knight started with started with BBI’s Prime Infrastructure in August 2002. Jesse’s responsibilities include the operational interface between DBCT Management and the Terminal Operator as well as the Goonyella coal chain stakeholders.

Kelvin Lockyer
Executive Manager Operations - DBCT Pty Ltd

Kelvin is currently the Executive Manager Operations for Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Pty Ltd, where he is responsible for Operations, Logistics, and Environmental functions that ultimately support the Dalrymple Bay Coal Chain.  Prior to this specific role at DBCT P/L,  Kelvin worked in the DBCT P/L Maintenance, IT, and Engineering areas, before moving across to the Operations area to oversee the transformation of scheduling, planning and day of operations systems and functions that supported the Terminal expansions from 50 Million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to 85 Mtpa.  Kelvin has over 30 years of operational, technical, management and executive level experience in both the private and public sectors; including ports, mining, energy, processing industries, and the military.

Steve Straughan
Manager Planning & Development - Aurizon Network

Steve Straughan joined QR National, Network Operations on Monday 29 August 2011 as the Manager Network Operations North in Mackay. Previously Steve was a manager for the QR National Coal team in Brisbane where he made a significant contribution to improving the capital productivity of major growth projects. Steve joined QR National in September 2009, having previously worked at Boeing Aerospace in a number of senior management roles most recently being the Business Improvement Manager, responsible for the deployment of Lean management practices as well as previous roles in Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance and Learning and Development management.

Sarah Dixon
General Manager, Networks Operations CQCN - Aurizon Network

As Manager Network Operations CQCN, Sarah is responsible for day of operations through the consolidated Central Queensland Control Centre as well as planning and scheduling services on Australia's largest coal export rail network.  She leads a team of approximately 170 employees spread across Mackay, Jilalan, Rockhampton, Gladstone and Brisbane.  She joined Aurizon in 2009 to manage the separation of QR and the subsequent listing of Aurizon.  Before moving to Queensland, Sarah was a consultant in Melbourne working with a range of companies as a business analyst and project manager. She worked on a number of change programs after moving to Brisbane in 2003.

Ian Gibbons
Logistics Manager - Rio Tinto Coal Australia Pty Ltd

Ian commenced with Rio Tinto in 2007 . He currently leads two coal chain teams focused on extracting business value from Qld & NSW coal supply chains. In doing so, each team is responsible for integrating mine plans to customers’ offtake schedules as well as coal chain contractual management /performance. Ian has formal qualifications in economics and supply chain management.

Paul Hartfiel
Logistics Development and Regulatory Principal - Fitzroy Australia Resources

Paul originally joined Vale in 2008 and has held various logistics roles during this period, including his current role with Fitzroy Australia Resources, who bought out Vale in 2016.  Paul’s current responsibilities include the commercial management, planning, and operations of logistics for coal operations in Queensland.  Paul has over 15 years of experience in bulk commodity logistics in the mining industry and prior to this held various commercial and finance roles in manufacturing.  Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a CPA member of the Australian Society of CPA’s.
